Obituary of Billy Gene Shaw

Church Hill - Billy Gene Shaw, 75 of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Loudon, TN, Billy had lived in Kingston, for 37 years. He was a 21 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the very first football team at Midway High School. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Kingston and a member of the American Legion Post # 110 in Kingston and VFW Post #5065 in Sheridan, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Dorcas Simpson Shaw; brother, Bobby Shaw; sister, Anna Lou Brogdon. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jerolyn Shaw; daughters, Cindy Welch and husband Steve of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Wendy Gray and husband John of Rogersville; sisters, Carol Bullard, Phyllis Gibson, Mary Roberts, Judy Gouge and Beth Spence; brothers, Jimmy Shaw, Virgil Shaw, David Shaw, Larry Shaw and Gary Shaw; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Mtn. Home National Cemetery in Mtn. Home, TN where the Hawkins County Color Guard and the TN National Guard performed the rites. The Color Guard served as pallbearers.
