Obituary of Jean Hartgrove

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints" Psalm 116:15 Annie Ima Jean Hartgrove, 73, of Kingsport left this earth to join her Savior on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a long time active member of Midfield Freewill Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school, Bible school and been active in the Ladies Auxiliary. Her favorite times were those she spent surrounded by her family and times spent with her many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Don Hartgrove in 1997, by her parents, Ray Crawford and Grace Jones Lawson and by a brother, Charles Crawford. She is survived by two sons, Jesse Hartgrove & wife, Cynthia of Kingsport, Nathan Hartgrove & wife Laura of Jonesborough; sisters, Priscilla Byrd and Joyce (Wayne) Beard; grandchildren, Rachel, Josh & wife Sebrina, Hannah, Matthew and Austin; great grandchildren, Emma and Lily; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Melissa, Jamie, Michael, Bryan, Brent, Billie Jean and Tracy. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 pm Monday, August 12, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport or anytime at her home. A funeral service will follow at 8 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Adam Miller, Pastor Jesse Hartgrove, Pastor Kevin Rose, officiating. Music will be provided by Kevin Rose, Austin & Matthew Hartgrove. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport with Bro. Billy Gragg and Bro Ed Maynard, officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce McMillan, Jim Darter, Ralph Webb, Don Conners, Andy Eidson and Charles Murrell. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:15 am to go in procession. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Hartgrove family.
