Obituary of Vivian McMurray

Vivian McMurray Blountville - Vivian McMurray, 84 Blountville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Wexford House in Kingsport. She was a life-long member of New Hurland Baptist Church and lovingly known by family and friends as aunt "B". She was a daughter of the late Arch J. McMurray and Grace E. Mullins McMurray. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rhea McMurray; brother, A. Jerry McMurray, sister, Faye Hobbs; daughter-in-law Glenda McMurray, and granddaughter Lee Ann McMurray. Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Ralph McMurray; two sons, Alan McMurray and wife Diana of Chattanooga, TN, and Ronald McMurray and wife Phyllis of Marion, VA; three granddaughters, Brandi Lawson and husband David of Wise, VA, Alana McMurray of Chattanooga, TN, Michelle Sisson and husband Evan of Chesterfield, VA; and a grandson, Seth Chester of Roanoke, VA; four great-granddaughters, Mia Grace and Amanda Lawson and Isabella and Sophia Sisson; sisters, Lois Carter of Hiltons, VA, Audrey Richards and husband Pat of Clyde, OH, Gertrude Jennings of Gate City, VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Fred Robinette officiating. Music will be provided by The McMurray Brothers. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Gardner's Chapel Cemetery in Hiltons, VA. Pallbearers will be Jack Hobbs, Harlan Hobbs, Randall Barger, Roger Carter, Jeff Carter, Michael Ketron, Mitchell Ketron, Seth Chester, and David Lawson. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of New Hurland Church. In lieu of flowers please send donations to New Hurland Baptist Church, 763 New Hurland Baptist Church Lane, Hiltons, VA; and Meoc Adult Day Care Services.
