Obituary of William Morgan Stallard

William (Bill) Morgan Stallard, 80, of Fountain Inn, SC died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 3, 1933 in Scott County, Virginia. His parents were Gus and Leta Stallard. He attended Emory and Henry College and graduated from East Tennessee State University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Stallard worked for TRW for over 40 years. He was active in the United Methodist Church all his life. Mr. Stallard is survived by his wife Reba, daughters Susan Stallard in South Carolina and Anne Stallard in Germany, his granddaughter Morgan Stallard also in Germany and his siblings Larry and Emburta Stallard, Jim and Shelbie Stallard, John and Lana Stallard and Carmen Stallard all of Scott County, Virginia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and longtime friends. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Midway Memorial United Methodist Church, Gate City, Virginia. A service will be held 2 pm at the church with Pastor Brad Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan's Chapel Cemetery, Gate City, Virginia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601 or a charity of one's choice. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Stallard family.
