Obituary of Dewey Rasnick

Dewey Rasnick, 64, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 3, 2014. Dewey was born on August 22, 1949 in Kingsport. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Christ Church, Kingsport. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Rasnick; his father, Henry Rasnick. Dewey is survived by his wife, Linda (Grammy) Rasnick; daughter, Lisa Smith; granddaughter, Alyshia Bell and husband Chris Bell; grandson, Sean Dominick Smith II; great granddaughter, Asiah, Alexa and Amyah Bell; He's also survived by his sister, Ann Ford and husband Johnny Ford; sisiter, Carol Bortzer, Clearwater, FL; brother, Joe Rasnick ; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may visit anytime at the home of Ann and Johnny Ford, 1221 Ridgecrest Avenue, Kingsport or Linda Rasnick, 905 Clara Drive, Kingsport. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Pastor Richard K. Dice will officiate the service, which will follow at 7 pm. Music will be provided by Gerald Compton and David Compton. Burial will be at Sulphur Springs Cemetery at 10 am on Wednesday August 6, 2014. Family and friends should be at Carter-Trent at 9 am to leave in procession. Pallbearers will be Bill Bowen, Jack Faxon, Johnny Ford, Todd Fortner, Harlan Peters and mike Whited. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Rasnick family.
