Obituary of Harold David Rogers
David (Possum) Rogers, age 62, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
He was a member of Victory Apostolic Church where he enjoyed attending with his church family. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and being outdoors. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Scalf Rogers; father, Willard Rogers; mother, Myrtle Ward and daughter-in-law, Heather Rogers.
He is survived by his children, Renita Wolfe (Donnie), David Rogers, Chris Rogers and Anthony Johnson; 10 grandchildren, siblings, Larry Rogers (Linda), Carl Rogers (Sue), Brenda Wright (Bobby), Jim Ward (Connie), Buster Ward and Betty Ward; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Friends and family are welcome to visit at the home of the brother, Larry Rogers, at any time.
Calling hours will be from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral will begin at 2:00 pm with Bishop Hagan Webb and Rev. Boyd Holder officiating.
Interment will follow at Depew's Chapel UMC Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Heath Wolfe, Brian Rogers, Steve Rogers, Jeff Rinner, Gary Taylor, Jackie Amos and Darrell Dalton. Honorary Pallbearers are Jacob Wolfe and Jonathan Rogers (Little David).
