Obituary of James Edward Peak

Kingsport - James Edward Peak, 81 of Kingsport, was carried by the angels to be with God on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Spring City, TN, James had lived in Michigan for several years before moving to Kingsport 20 years ago. He was retired from General Motors in Detroit, MI. He was a Christian and attended church when he was able. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Donald Etherton. James is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Wells Peak; daughters, Kathy Peak, Tina Etherton and husband Kenny, Maria Isley and husband Greg all of Kingsport and Karen Cleek and husband Richard of Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Bobbie, Robert, Timothy, Donald, II., Fancy, Sarah, Hannah, Peyton, Brook, Rachel, Christan and Summer; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Billy Wayne McDonald, Rev. Johnny Gibson, Pastor Vern Hall and Rev. Garland Tipton officiating. Music will be provided by the Way of Life Singers. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Friendship Church Cemetery in Spring City, TN with Pastor Larry Peak officiating.
