Obituary of Patricia Ann Sexton Whitehead

Patricia Ann Sexton Whitehead Kingsport - Patricia Ann Sexton Whitehead, 62, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, April 9, 2014 at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Kingsport and had lived here all her life. Patricia graduated from Lynn View High School in 1969. She was a former employee of Life Care Center of Church Hill and Fingerhut. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and a friend to all who knew her. Patricia loved going on cruises, going to yard sales and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Indian Path Hospital and to Mountain States Health Alliance Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents Keener and Virginia Castle Sexton; sister, Diane Lewis; brother Keener Wayne Sexton; grandparents and several aunts and uncles. Surviving are her daughters, Leslie Tate and companion, Mark Henley, Kelly Rhoton and fiancé, Michael Walters, Crystal Castle and Tami Johnson and companion, David Russell; grandchildren, Kevin, Matt, Shawna, Austin, Shane, Kalia, Benjamin, Hunter, Aaron and Christopher Walters; great grandchildren, Branson and Melina; Sandie Howell and husband, Ray; brothers, Bo Sexton and wife, Ann, David Sexton and wife, Darlene and Chris Sexton and wife, Kate; sister in law, Paula Sexton; brother in law Robert Lewis; several nieces and nephews and special companion and best friend, her cat, "Meme." The family will have a Celebration of Life Gathering from 2 pm to 4 pm Saturday April 12, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport with guest speaker, Mark Poff.
