Obituary of Jo Ann Hurst

Jo Ann Hurst, 70, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord early Monday morning, April 7, 2014 at Brookhaven Manor after a long illness. She was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, she was a former resident of Morganfield, KY, Church Hill, and had lived in Kingsport for the past 30 years. Mrs. Hurst was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Brookhaven Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Hurst; daughter, Rhonda Rickenberg and her mother, Gertie Stachurski. Surviving are her daughter, Peggy Totton and husband, Jim of Hanson, KY; son, Warren Burlingane and wife, Becky of Henderson, KY; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Leona Normann of Ormand Beach, FL and Diane Kinkead of Hohenwald, TN and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 pm Wednesday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hammonds officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
