Obituary of Glendon Lane

Glendon Lane Kingsport - Glendon Lane, 70, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center after a sudden illness. Mr. Lane was born in Kingsport, was a former resident of Church Hill and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. He retired from Eastman Chemical Co. He enjoyed talking on the CB radio and went by the handle "Jungle Jim." Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his wife Mary Leach Lane; his parents, W.C. and Monnie Russell Lane. Surviving are his son, Greg Lane; granddaughter, Kaylee Mary-Grace; sister, Lucretia Tripp and husband, Wayne; brothers, Roger Lane and wife, Lesa and LeVerne Lane; several nieces and nephews and caregiver, Melissa Lane. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Wednesday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jonathan Lovelace officiating. Music will be provided by Wayne Tripp. A graveside service will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Metcalf, Chris Bowman, Wayne Poore, Josh Good, Chester Crawford, Scotty Griffith and Bryan Skeens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:50 am. Carter-Trent Funeral Home is serving the family of Glendon Lane.
