Obituary of Richie Lee Greene

Rogersville - Richie Lee Greene, 72 of Rogersville passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Kingsport, Richie had lived in Hawkins County since 1977. He was an electrician and a member of the Local 934 IBEW for 45 years. Richie loved the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Hensley Greene; his parents, Logan and Julia Smith Greene; sisters, Sylvia Greene, June Greene and Julia Greene; brothers, Homer Greene and John Greene. Richie is survived by his companion of 21 years, Maxie Bowman; sister, Patsy Tuck and husband Gus; brothers, Dannie Greene and wife Joanna and Charles Greene; also Maxie's family, whom he was very close to. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill with Daniel Winegar officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
