Obituary of Louise Gilreath

"The end of a Christian's life, is the beginning of a far better one…" Louise Gilreath, 72 of Church Hill went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness following complications of heart surgery. Louise was a long standing member of West View Missionary Baptist Church and will be greatly missed. She was a retired employee of Kroger's in Kingsport. Louise loved the Lord, her church and the Bible. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband A.J. Gilreath; her parents, Hiram and Maude (Vermillion) Brooks; two brothers, Ray Brooks, Billie Gale Brooks, and a sister, Mary Hunt. Louise is survived by her son, Andy Gilreath & wife Sharon of Church Hill; beloved grandson, Drew Gilreath; two sisters, Barbara Snavely & husband Henry of Apopka, Florida and Faye Lewis of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Shirley Brooks of Church Hill; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm with Rev. Mike Stout, officiating. Music by Johnny Copas. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 am. Pallbearers will be the Deacons & Members of West View Baptist Church. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Gilreath family.
