Obituary of Jack Odell Church
Jack Church, 82, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, February 23, 2014 at his home. Jack was born April 26, 1931 in North Carolina and lived most of his life in Kingsport.
He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a member of Bible Way Baptist Church. He was a retired machinist with Holston Defense.
He was preceded in death by parents, Walter W. and Belva F. (Baird) Church; brothers, James L. Church and Lloyd W. Church.
Survivors: Wife: Flora Arbuta Church, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bud and May Hutchins, Jim and Judy Hutchins, Bobby and Nancy Chapman, Mary Massengill, nieces and nephews, Chucky Hutchins, Angie Christian, Shelby Hutchins, Rockey Hutchins, Jason Hutchins, Melissa White, Michael Chapman, Rick Chapman, John Chapman, Darlene Chapman, Abby Chapman and Renea Adams along with a host of cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends 4-6 P.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga, Kingsport with funeral services following at 6 p.m. with Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating. Music by True Faith Quartet.
Military graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park, conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265. Pallbearers, Jason Hutchins, Rockey Hutchins, Jerry Hutchins, David Hutchins, Phillip Hutchins, Chucky Hutchins, Rick Chapman, John Chapman, Trevor White. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.
