Obituary of Bettina Rhoton

Bettina "Tina" Sue Rhoton, 71, of Duffield went to be with the Lord (Wednesday February 5th, 2014) at Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife, mom, mamaw and friend of many. Tina was born in Lee County; and was employed at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home for many years where she worked in the dietary department. She was a devout Christian and active member of the Kaylors Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Echol and Margaret Grace Bledsoe of Blackwater, Virginia. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Willard (Donald) Rhoton of Duffield; two sons, Anthony (Tony) Rhoton and wife Jennifer of Duffield; Donald (Keith) Rhoton and wife Patti of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Ethan, Daniel, Matthew and Patrick Rhoton; sister, Monica Rhoton and husband Lonnie of Duffield; brothers, Marcelle E. Bledsoe and wife Lois of Duffield, Stanley Bledsoe and wife Jenny of Kingsport and Randy Bledsoe and wife Betsy of Gate City, Va; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 till 7pm Sunday at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Pastor David Kern of Kaylors Chapel and Rev. Bryan Moore of Fordtown Baptist Church officiating. Music will be provided by Kaylors Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Monday (February 10th, 2014) at McKinney-Carter Cemetery in the Fraleytown community of Duffield. Pallbearers will be nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the care given by Dr. Gary S. Smith of Holston Valley Medical Group and the nurses of Holston Valley Medical Center. The family would also like to thank all concerned friends that called, sent cards and visited during her sickness.
