Obituary of Fred B. Williams

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…..2 Timothy 4:7 Fred B. Williams, of Kingsport passed away on Friday January 31, 2014 at Indian Path Medical Center. Fred was born in St. Paul, VA and lived all his life in Kingsport. He was owner of Williams Grocery Store (West Carters Valley). Fred attended Olkhone School. He was a member of Weber City Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Williams and Myrtle Fields Williams; an infant sister; two brothers, McNeer "Mack" Williams and James Bruce Williams. He is survived by his wife of over 23 ½ years, Gladys Wheeler Williams of the home; also, Freddie Williams, Mandy, Elizabeth, Doris Benard and Phyllis Ward; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Archer, Dr. Gonce, all nurses in the ER, doctors and nurses in the ICU, and Hospice at Indian Path Medical Center, The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A service will be held at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Pastor Raymond Hammond, Rev. Randal Shupe and Brother Duane Childress officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Friends will serve as pallbearers. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Williams family.
