Obituary of Florence Vermillion

Florence Vermillion, 76, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 24, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Manor, PA, she was a former resident of Homestead, FL, Brooksfield, FL and had live in Kingsport most of her life. She was a member of Hickman Memorial Church where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Vermillion was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert "Bobby" Vermillion and her father, Frank Wilkins, Sr. Surviving are her daughters, Tina Comer and husband, Mark, Wendy Hale and husband, Bruce and Penny Taylor; grandchildren, Misti Gillmore and husband, James, Heather Brown and husband, Chad, Melinda Scoggins, Ron "Bruce" Hale and Laci, Ashley Cross and husband, Billy and Robert Vaughn; great grandchildren, Brendan Gilllmore, Jenna Gillmore, Jarrett Gillmore, Averey Cross, Kaylee Cross and Aydan Cross; mother, Sophie Wilkins; sister, Mary Anne Hypes; brothers, Mark Wilkins and Frank Wilkins, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Monday, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. A funeral Service will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Mauk officiating. Music will be provided by Brother Ed McLain. A graveside service will follow at the Vermillion Cemetery, Hiltons, VA. Pallbearers will be Ron "Bruce" Hale, Robert Vaughn, James Gillmore, Chad Brown, Scott Vermillion and, Mark Comer.
