Obituary of Margaret Kidd Patterson

Church Hill - Margaret Kidd Patterson 86, of Church Hill, passed into everlasting life on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She left this world surrounded by her family and has now joined her loved ones around the throne of Christ. She was a lifelong resident of East Tennessee and had lived most of her life in Church Hill. Mrs. Patterson loved the Lord, her family and country, in that order. Her testimony was her life of love shown immeasurably to family, fellow-Christians and to strangers she encountered everywhere. She loved her flowers and garden. She relished the little children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Patterson; brother, Kenneth Kidd and grandson, Jason Patterson. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Walker and husband Eddie; son, Delmar Patterson and wife Teresa; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, William Kidd. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the home of the son, Delmar Patterson. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Elder Timothy Adkins officiating. A eulogy will be given by Samuel Walker. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Church Hill Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Patterson family.
