Obituary of Joyce Hill Kendrick

Joyce Hill Kendrick, 60, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning (January 1, 2014) at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Hill along with several aunts and uncles. Joyce Hill Kendrick is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Ken Kendrick; her sons, Eddie Kendrick, Kenny Kendrick, Chris Kendrick (all of Kingsport); 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; her father, Willie Hill; sisters, Joan Adkins and Janice Quillen (all of Kingsport); brothers, James Hill (Michigan) and Joe Hill (Kingsport) along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday (January 4, 2014) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Jack K. Forbes, officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday (January 4, 2014) at 2 p.m. at Poplar Grove Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service is asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. to go in procession. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Kendrick family.
