Obituary of Louise Greer

Kingsport - Louise Greer of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord early Monday morning, October 20, 2013 after an apparent heart attack. She was born in Kingsport and had lived here most of her life. Mrs. Greer was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edgar Greer; daughters, Mary Viola Peters and Kathy Neil Bright; daughter in law, Jan Greer and a son in law, Darrell Bright. Surviving are her daughter, Laura Ball and husband, Johnny of Kingsport; sons, James "Jay" Greer and wife, Joyce of Kingsport, Larry Greer of Rogersville and Gary Greer and wife Judy of Kingsport; several grandchildren; a grandson whom she raised as her own, Jimmy Peters; several great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter, Talieah Rebel; brother R.B. Ferguson of Kingsport. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday October 22, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 pm with Rev. Mikel Caywood and Rev. Dusty Wallen officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Mikel Caywood. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at East Lawn Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:50 am.
