Obituary of Fred Ketron
Kingsport - Fred Ketron, 72, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Monday afternoon, August 12, 2013 after a long illness.
He was born in Hiltons, Virginia and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. Mr. Ketron was an over the road truck driver retiring from Roy Estes Trucking Co. after 12 years of service. He was a member of The Free Gift Gospel Mission. He loved doing mission work for the Lord, fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. R.B. and Nell Eaton Ketron and a grandson, Cody Ketron.
Surviving are his loving wife, Louise Arnold Ketron of the home; daughter, Deana Ruth of Kingsport; sons, Dwayne Ketron and Darrin Ketron both of Kingsport; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Sue Nickels and husband, Jan of Kingsport and Phyllis Brown and husband Ray of Cleveland, TN; brothers, Jack Ketron and wife, Margie, Joe Ketron and wife, Jean and Frank J. Ketron all of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews and his pride and joy and loving companion, Taco Bell.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Cater-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport.
A funeral service will follow at 7 p m in the funeral home chapel with Brother Vern Hall, Brother Earl Hulse and Brother Wayne Begley officiating. Music will be provided by Melissa Hall and Regina Stacy.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Friday, August 16, 2013 at Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am.
