Obituary of Lois Carico Henry

Lois Lee (Carico) Henry, 89, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Sunday July 7, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a long illness. Lois was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was a loving mother and especially loved her grandchildren. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, enjoyed reading, her flower and vegetable gardens and traveling when her health permitted. Lois worked at Sears Department Store and retired from J. C. Penney. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Susannah (Olinger) Carico; husband, Calvin Lamar Henry; brothers, Clyde Carico and Paul Carico and one infant sister. She is survived by her daughters, Susanne Boggs and husband, Benny of Kingsport, Brenda Lane of Kingsport and Vickie Henry of Kingsport; sons, J.E. Henry and wife Ruthann of Knoxville, and Tony Henry and wife, Carol of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren, Sonya Duncan, Lucas Henry, Holly Fletcher, Brad Lawson, Rev. Jackson Henry and Bryan Sampson; fourteen great grandchildren; special friends, Piper and Pat Meade; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. 191 Central Heights Road, Blountville, TN 37617. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm with Rev. Jenny Venable and Rev. Jackson Henry officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Carico, Clifton Carico, Joey Carico, Tommy Carico, Allen James, and Randy Smith. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Henry family.
