Obituary of Lawrence Huffman

Kingsport - Lawrence Huffman, 75, of Kingsport passed away late Friday night (June 21, 2013) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born in Beckley, WV resided in Baltimore, MD, Mount Carmel, TN and Kingsport, TN. He was a salesman for Montgomery Ward for many years and retired from Kingsport City Schools. He loved to be around all his animals and especially enjoyed nature. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Arnold Huffman; his father, Lawrence Huffman; daughter, Cindy Huffman; 2nd wife, Fern Huffman. He is survived by his daughters, Diane Huffman McCall (Greenville, MS), Laura Smith and husband Mike (Kingsport, TN); mother, Beulah Workman(West Virginia); five grandchildren, Amanda McCall, Seth McCall and wife Diane, Chryste Stewart and husband Andrew, Brandon Smith and wife, Angel and Bryan Smith; five great grandchildren; step children, Jane Hicks and husband, Ron, Dan Thomas and Hope; sisters, Dorothy Willis, Sharon Huffman and Jane Stover; a special friend, Reba Frazier along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday June 24, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday June 25, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Ball officiaiting. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bryan Smith, Seth McCall, Brandon Smith, Steve Kirkpatrick, Jeff Cougnet and Andrew Stewart. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is servant the Huffman family.
