My condolences to the family. The Hunleys used to be our very good neighbors. They were easy to like and great people.

We will miss your smiling face and your amazing humor. You were always someone to look up to. You never seen Charlie without Frances and he always took the best care of her treating her like the queen she was. His last words were, "I miss Frances" then he passed away to go be with his wonderful loving wife. We will miss you both so much, yet, we are so happy that you both are once again together in each other's arms. We love you both.

Always smiling and lighthearted, I always enjoyed the minutes he gave me of his time. He will always bring a smile to my face every time his memory is jostled in my heart.

Prayers for your family!
Growing up, I always considered "Von" to be a cousin (Uncle Hassell was my mother's brother). I didn't know him as 'Charlie' until later in life. I guess I saw more of Von than any of my cousins, because his mother and he were close to my grandparents (Conley) and came by a lot (we lived next door to my mother's parents). I always thought highly of them. Funny story about 'Von': when I was in school we had a fundraiser, selling metal social security cards. Von ordered one from me and wrote the info down for me, but when I turned in the order I mistook the writing and entered the order as Charles Aron Hunley. I mistook the 'v' for an 'r', as I didn't think his name could have been Avon! He laughed when I delivered the card and said he liked Aron better than Avon! Even though I always called him Von, it never occurred to me his real name was Avon. I guess I remember Aunt Georgia calling him Avon, but thinking she was just saying 'hey Von'. RIP 'Von'.
