Obituary of Ronald Edward Bellamy

Surgoinsville - Ronald Edward Bellamy, 67 of Surgoinsville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24, 2014 at his residence. Born in Rogersville, Ron had lived several years in Goldsboro, NC before returning to Surgoinsville in 2000. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as a truck driver from King Bee Transportation. He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Surgoinsville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace Rimer Bellamy; sister, Shirley Bellamy. Ron is survived by his wife, Shirley Bishop Bellamy of Surgoinsville; daughter, Dorothy Bellamy; son, Robert Bellamy both of Goldsboro, NC; 2 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; step-daughter, Melanie Johnson and husband Brian of Denton, NC; 3 step-grandchildren; special friend, Ronnie Blanchard. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Donnie Anderson and Walt Way officiating. Music will be provided by The Anderson Family. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Surgoinsville UMC Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:55. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International, P.O. 3217, Kingsport, TN 37664 or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Bellamy family.
